Selecting a device for sound output is made through Configuration > Hardware setup.
Two kind of output are available: default system output and output to another device.
Default system output
It's the output devices selected in system settings, in "Sound", "Output" tab. If
ypu select this output, you'll be able to select a bitrate, number of
bits, etc through the Si vous choisissez cette sortie vous pourrez
définir
une fréquence, le nombre de bits, etc. Configuration > Digital output
setup menu option.
Output to a selected device
You will select the output device in the list of all those available. Output will be more responsive. Bitrate, number of bits, etc are those selected via
"Applications/Utilities/Audio and MIDI settings" This is especially useful if you widh to use an aggregated device and output to more than two channels
Note: When selecting audio device, the "+" button opens "Audio and MIDI settings" |
Aggregated devices
Your computer, internally, and some devices (microphone, screen) offer a sound output on two channels (stereo). macOS lets you aggregate several of these devices to obtain 4.0 with 4
channels, 5.1 with 6 channels, 7.1 with 8 channels,
etc
This kind of device can be created via
"Applications/Utilities/Audio and MIDI settings".
