concurrent different temperaments

Greetings, and Happy New Year! It's been a while since I delved into the nooks and crannies of myriad software, so here's a question I've wondered about for some time. Is it possible to have two instruments, in the same piece, at the same time, play in different temperaments? I'm keen to compare temperaments, and one way would be to able to have, say, Bach's WTC #1 in C major on the left channel in equal temperament, and on the right channel in some other (more appropriate*) temperament. Panning left to right during playback would bring out the differences in affect, and equal mixing between left and right would accentuate the differences in tuning in real time. Is such a thing possible? Have to say, this is wonderful software. I recently purchased the gold sound base, and like it a lot. Cheers, -Bruce * wearing a bit of my bias on my sleeve there, apologies ...

And a belated New Year to you! I have just carried out a test (attached) to confirm, and the answer is yes What you can do is to open a new file in the selected temperament (Mean tone or Just/Barbershop) and save the "detuning rules" that define that temperament. Go to the Black Triangle menu of that staff and select Edit Rules > Save, choosing an appropriate filename. You can then import that temperament (those "rules" into any staff of your choosing by a similar route. In the attachment, you can hear the beating of the Just Scale against equal temperaments (the minor 7th being the most discordant). Before you save the set of rules, you can switch-off the labelling (Display name: Never)

Thanks -- works well. I'll post another, related question about temperaments, under topic "temperaments available in myriad software?". Thanks.
