Printing "swing" effect on score   notes.gif

Hi all,

I wonder if there's a way in Melody Assistant to print swing / quantization effects in a score to indicate when two eighth notes might have a different value (image attached).

Similarly, I'd like to be able to print whenever the swing doesn't take effect any longer (that is: print a "two eighth notes equal two eighth notes" symbol).

Anybody knows how to do this?

Cheers,
Joan

I assume that you've already applied the swing effect on a section of your music. Now, you can use a text object to show the swing indication (first button of the miscellaneous tools palette). Now, you enter the escape sequence :
$([8 8])=$([8. 16]). To show the return to regular rhythm, the sequence is $([8 8])=$([8 8]). Now, on most of my scores, I only get the "swing" or "regular notes" indications.
Note : this sequence is meant to show a "hard" swing. There is another one that uses a quarter note + an eighth note in a 3:2 tuplet.
<Edit>I don't know what wrong with my borwser, but at first it didn't show your example picture... This is the second escape sequence :
$([8 8])=$([4:3 8:3])</edit>

Great, I didn't know you could write note symbols directly with the Text tool, thanks!

Do you know how to write the soft swing (with the quarter and the eight in a 3:2 tuplet)?
