sound base = sound font?

...with apologies for a maybe-stupid question: does the Gold Sound Base work as a General MIDI sound-font? ie is it an .sf2 file that can be used by non-myriad MIDI applications?

...I'm excited to return to Harmony Assistant after a years-long absence!

I don't think so. As far as I know, the sound base is a built-in feature with its own standards, whether it's the GMSEBase, the GoldBase or the Myrsynth module. However, I think HA is now able to manage external modules.

No.
This is myriad only applications.
Myriad can import .sf2
Myriad can use VST
but Myriad sound base is not usable by external programs.

How I imported a Myriad sound on my keyboard?
With my keyboard I've a software I can build instrument from wave files, I add some .wav files, tell which not it is, and the keyboard will resample them like MA/HA do.

  • Global setup : uncheck Edit > Fast user-defined digital instrument creation
  • create a new score with one staff
  • choose the instrument you'd like to export to waves files, example Ethnic > Koto (in Gold base)
  • check user-defined sound
  • for each entry in the "To the note..." menu, look at the note name c#3, click on action menu > export sound, save it as Koto c#3.wav in my example.

When you edit the instrument seeing the waveforms.
You can export/import WAV files in the little menu below the waveform.

In the same menu you can import sf2

Depending on the sf2, sometimes it's clear to choose samples, sometimes not (like if samples were many many times in the same sf2)
