I've converted my layout for the image pages to match galerie's way of doing things. And, well I've got it half working. The border appears in the individual image pages, but not in the index. I've gone over it several times, and compared it with the templates that do work, but to no avail.

Also, when I select my template, the "Use frame" selection in both the "Thumbnails" and "Pictures" settings boxes is grayed out. If I select aqua frame or Shadow, they show up.

I'm probably missing something totally silly, but I will show you what I have just in case. I'll keep working on it, but any clues would be appreciated.

That usually means that the 'back' image files are not right.

1. Make sure that the files do not only have a .jpg extension, but are indeed jpeg files.

2. You copied and pasted the file names. Could there be a (extra) hidden extension that was not replaced by pasting? Check 'Name and extension' using 'Show Info' in the Finder File menu.

Good thought on the name and extension thing, but I'm afraid that wasn't it.

I have gone so far as to directly copy the "imageback.jpg" and "thumbback.jpg" files from the aqua frame directory to my template's directory. I knew that it wouldn't look right, but I thought it would at least display a frame. It did not. So now I'm quite confused.

I've changed some things but it still isn't working properly. I have come up with a fix for the problem by editing the "aqua frame" template instead of making one for myself from scratch. I copied my information into the html templates and copied in my graphics directly from the non-working "meine reisen" folder. When I did that, everything worked properly.

The layout uses graphic files outside the destination folder, but I have not included them because I didn't think you needed them to test how well Galerie is parsing the template.

In my test Galerie had problems with the 'readme.txt' being empty. Enter some text in it and if Galerie is running stop and relaunch Galerie. The frame check boxes will then be enabled and the frame will be used with both thumbnails and pictures.

The thumbback.jpg is the same size as the imageback.jpg (900x900). The resizing to fit the smaller thumbnails makes the frames rather thin. If they are thinner than you intended, make the thumbback.jpg a little smaller by moving the sides closer to each other (not by resizing the image). For instance 600x600 may be a better match to the thumbnails.

Thank you for the tip. The "thumbback.jpg" was just a placeholder while I was trying to get things to work.

I thought about the readme, I guess I should have followed the idea.
