Editing comments - OS 10.6

Has any solution been found to the problem with editing comments when generating a gallery (OS 10.6)?  
 
When I try to edit the comment I get this error after each key stroke:
 
AppleScript Error
AppleEvent handler failed. (-10000)
 
I must dismiss the message and then I can enter the next keystroke, then the error message appears, then I must dismiss it, etc. etc.  
 
I have found I can add comments by pasting them in, but of course this is much less convenient (though MUCH easier than the above procedure!).

This is a known problem in Galerie with Snow Leopard  but there will not be a solution soon (if ever). Development of Galerie has been suspended because of lack of time. We consider making Galerie open source. Maybe someone else wants to take over the project.
