Title: The word “go-ing” sounds different in two places Post by eduardo on Jan 15th, 2021, 12:26pm I’ve found that the english word “go-ing” sounds quite different in two places in the same song (Wayfaring Stranger) with the same strucuture of the bars, but changing only the pitch… It’s a very strage phenomena that I couldn’t explain… See the file attached. Any suggestion? |

Title: Re: The word “go-ing” sounds different in two places Post by SDoerr on Jan 15th, 2021, 2:47pm The second one has an accent on the 'i', i.e. í, like in some Spanish words. This will not be recognized in a UK/US English context. |

Title: Re: The word “go-ing” sounds different in two places Post by SDoerr on Jan 15th, 2021, 3:30pm I didn't notice until I saved the lyrics as a text file and opened it in Notepad, where presumably the font size was bigger. By the way, I also answer to 'Steve' :D |

Title: Re: The word “go-ing” sounds different in two places Post by Tony Deff on Jan 16th, 2021, 11:46am It is easy to overlook the "magnifying glass" at the bottom of the Edit Lyrics window. It is in fact a slider. (Of course, you would need good vision to notice this ;D ) This in invaluable in spotting extra spaces. |

Title: Re: The word “go-ing” sounds different in two places Post by PaulL on Jan 19th, 2021, 6:27pm I have noticed that unexpected behavior by VS usually results from problems in the lyrics that don't appear from looking at the score. It always pays to scrutinize the lyrics in the editing box, and even then, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is required for spotting the problem! :) |
